Zusammenfassung: | The present invention relates to dynamic indexing for moving parts in a manufacturing environment. Systems and methods for indexing a layup mandrel are provided. One embodiment is a method of indexing a layup mandrel of a composite component. The method comprises the steps of: identifying a first side surface of a layup mandrel traveling in a process direction during manufacturing of the composite part; placing a lamination head in contact with the surface; traversing the surface of the cladding mandrel with a lamination head; acquiring a 3D coordinate flow of the lamination head as the lamination head crosses the surface; characterizing a cladding mandrel based on the 3D coordinate flow; based on the difference between the alignment of the layup mandrels and the nominal alignment of the layup mandrels, a numerical control (NC) program that guides the laying of fiber reinforced material at the layup mandrels is modified.
