The present invention assists in easier management of an identifier of a workpiece manufactured in a process such as welding. The identifier management method is executed by a welding system, acquires information of identifiers (A, B) of a plurality of source workpieces (W1, W2), randomly selects which identifier from among the identifiers of the plurality of source workpieces to be used on the basis of completion of execution of a welding process using the plurality of source workpieces by the welding system, and manages the selected identifier.
