The invention relates to a battery comprising a first cell stack having a plurality of battery cells, a second cell stack having a plurality of battery cells, a plurality of electrically conductive cell connectors and at least one electrically conductive stack connector, the battery cells being arranged parallel to one another within the respective cell stack with respect to the respective longitudinal extension thereof, the cell connectors are arranged on respective contact sides of the cell stack and connect at least two battery cells to each other on each contact side, and the electrical connection is provided by means of respective contact tabs in a first contact section of the battery and/or in a second contact section of the battery, the stack connector is designed in a single-layer manner and is designed to collect the voltage of the electrically connected battery cells provided by the contact tabs in the first contact section into the total voltage of the battery at the power terminals of the battery,
