The present invention provides a process for determining the type of an unknown type of diamond, the process comprising the steps of: (i) applying a laser input signal to an unknown type of diamond with an NV-center or other C-center in order to generate fluorescence from the diamond; (ii) applying a magnetic field to the diamond and applying a variable microwave frequency to the diamond; (iii) acquiring the light intensity of the fluorescence according to the microwave frequency; and (iv) determining the type of unknown diamond by comparing the light intensity of the fluorescence according to the microwave frequency of (iii) with the microwave frequency characteristics of the light intensity with respect to known diamonds of a plurality of known types of diamonds. 本发明提供了一种确定未知类型的钻石的类型的工艺，所述工艺包括以下步骤：(i)以NV-中心或其他C中心对未知类型的钻石施加激光输入信号，以便从所述钻石生成荧光；(ii)对所述钻石施加磁场并且对所述钻石施加可变微波频率；(iii)根据微波频率获取荧光的光强度；以及(iv)通过将根据(iii)的微波频率的荧光的光强度与光强度相对于多个已知类型的钻石中的已知钻石的微波频率特性进行比较来确定未知钻石的所述类型。
