Zusammenfassung:Waveguide assemblies are described that utilize surface mount waveguides to achieve vertical transitions of printed circuit boards (PCBs). The surface mount waveguide effectively transfers electromagnetic energy from one side of the PCB to the other side by utilizing a waveguide cavity positioned above a plating bath, thereby achieving low transmission loss (e.g., increasing return loss bandwidth). The waveguide cavity is designed to excite two harmonic peaks of the EM energy to reduce the return loss of the power and increase the power provided to the antenna while supporting a high bandwidth of the EM energy.
