The technology of the present disclosure relates to an apparatus for determining characteristics of a camera. The apparatus includes a movable fixture operable to position a target in a field of view of the camera. A surface of the target has a linear region of interest, and the surface is perpendicular to a line of sight of the camera. The movable fixture is configured to rotate the target about the center of the surface to adjust the angle of the linear region of interest relative to the horizontal and vertical axes of the field of view, whereby characteristics of the camera can be determined based on the linear region of interest.
