The method comprises a step of reading in detected process data (119) relating to a movement process of a door (111) of the door system (110). The process data (119) represents a current situation of at least one drive element (116) of the door system (110) during the movement process. The method also comprises a step of associating the process data (119) with a position change curve of the position of the door (111) during the movement process in order to generate a characteristic curve of the current situation of the at least one drive element (116) at each position of the door (111).
