The discriminant analysis method comprises the following steps: preliminarily discriminating ferrodolomite; observing under a ferrodolomite mirror to be different from ferrodolomite with different prices; then researching the formation period of the ferrodolomite; discriminating iron dolomite, ferruginous dolomite and iron-containing dolomite by taking the iron-containing percentage content diagonal diagram as a standard; carrying out ferrodolomite lattice characteristic transmission electron microscope test analysis; carrying out ferrodolomite lattice characteristic analysis by utilizing a transmission electron microscope so as to judge a ferrodolomite formation mechanism; and discriminating and analyzing the formation of the newest stage of iron dolomite based on original iron dolomite.
