The method comprises the following steps: establishing the three-dimensional terrain of a to-be-covered area; inputting a specified coverage rate, parameter values of the sensors and deployment heights, calculating the initial number of the sensors, and giving initial deployment coordinates of the sensors; establishing a target function based on a visual field algorithm; calling the objective function by using a pattern search algorithm, optimizing coordinate points of each sensor, and calculating the coverage rate of the optimized sensors; comparing the optimized sensor coverage rate with a specified coverage rate, if the optimized sensor coverage rate is greater than or equal to the specified coverage rate, ending planning, and if the optimized sensor coverage rate is smaller than the specified coverage rate, adding 1 to the number of the sensors and returning to the step 4.
