Zusammenfassung:A dry drum storage system for spent nuclear fuel includes a detection device having a resonant electrical circuit located within an interior region of a metal container in which an SNF is located. The detection device includes a transmitter that generates an excitation pulse that resonates the resonant circuit and generates a response pulse. The resonant circuit includes an inductor formed using a core having a magnetic permeability that varies as a function of temperature such that a frequency of the resonant circuit varies as a function of temperature. The response pulse is then used to determine a temperature inside the container in which the SNF is located.
