Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a method and apparatus for optimizing fast battery charging. In described examples of methods and apparatus for fast charging a battery with optimized charging, a system (400) includes a battery charger (420) for applying a voltage to a rechargeable battery (430), and a controller (422) coupled to the battery charger (420) and monitoring at least one of a battery voltage, a battery temperature, and a current flowing into the battery (430). The system (400) is configured to apply a charging current from the battery charger (420) by calculating an open cell anode voltage and anode resistance of the battery (430) and determining the charging current.
