LATENCY MANAGEMENT FOR CONTENT DELIVERY

The present document discloses a method for playback of media content via a delivery channel. The delivery channel may generally refer to the channels through which audio or video programs are delivered (transmitted) to the user (receiver). The media content may generally comprise consecutive media programs. In particular, for a specific media program within the media content, a respective content type for that specific media program is also provided. The method may comprise receiving an indication of the sensitivity of a media program to playback latency. The method may further comprise receiving at least a portion of the media program.
