Target positioning method and device

The target positioning method comprises the steps: acquiring coordinates of a target vehicle and mapping the coordinates to a map, and establishing a bounding box area, wherein the target vehicle is located in the bounding box area; calculating distances between the target vehicle and all road sections in the bounding box area, and selecting a plurality of pre-selected road sections with smaller distances; in the pre-selected road sections, for each road section, finding out a point with the minimum distance from the target vehicle; taking the distance between the point and the target vehicle as the minimum distance between the corresponding road section and the target vehicle; for a certain road section in the pre-selected road sections, if the width of the road section is greater than or equal to the corresponding minimum distance, judging that the target vehicle belongs to t
