The method comprises the following steps of: removing impurities such as aluminum in the high-aluminum waste battery cathode material by adopting a sodium salt melting method; and directionally dissolving out effective metal elements such as aluminum, iron, sodium and lithium in different processes. According to the method disclosed by the invention, the loss rate of lithium is greatly reduced, the purity of the purified solution is improved, the reaction is performed at the temperature of 500 DEG C or below, the reaction temperature is reduced, the energy consumption is low, the process is simple and easy to control, the cost is low, and the method has obvious economic benefits.
