Application of whey protein as broad-spectrum inhibitor of coronaviruses

The invention provides novel application of whey protein and degraded products thereof. The whey protein and the degraded products thereof can be used for preventing and/or treating diseases caused by coronaviruses such as serious acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV), novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and similar novel coronaviruses such as pangolin coronavirus (xCoV) as broad-spectrum inhibitors of the coronaviruses.
