The invention provides a TCPST transient stability control method and system. The method comprises the steps: obtaining a difference value of the active power of a phase shifter according to the real-time active power and a steady-state control target, and enabling the difference value of the active power of the phase shifter to serve as an input signal; processing the input signal so that the maximum value of the input signal is smaller than or equal to an input signal threshold value; inputting the processed input signal into a transient stability controller of the TCPST to obtain an output signal of the transient stability controller, wherein the output signal of the transient stability controller is the phase shift angle variable quantity of the transient stability controller; and carrying out conversion processing and filtering processing on the output signal, and inputting the output signal subjected to conversion processing and filtering processing into the phase shifter as an input signal of the phase
