The method constructs a genetically engineered bacterium, the genetically engineered bacterium has higher tolerance of the high molecular weight nitrile hydratase to nitrile substances and amide substances and similar reaction rate to the low molecular weight nitrile hydratase, and can efficiently produce nicotinamide and acrylamide. According to the method, through a whole-cell catalysis method, nicotinamide and acrylonitrile are taken as substrates, the genetically engineered bacterium with a final concentration OD600 value of 8 is added, the nicotinamide and the acrylamide with higher added value are generated through catalysis, the yield of the nicotinamide can reach 375-516g/L, and the yield of the acrylamide can reach 240.8 g/L.
