The design method comprises the steps of (1) performing task analysis and function analysis on a nuclear power plant operation task; (2) determining a design range of the operation task display picture according to a specification requirement and a human factor requirement of the display picture; (3) arranging and optimizing information of the operation task display picture; and (4) arranging the information of the operation task display picture according to the purpose and function requirements of the operation task display picture. According to the design method of the operation task display picture provided by the invention, the picture information of each running task can be reasonably analyzed, and the picture information is reasonably arranged on the picture to form a task picture with relatively high agreement with the operation tasks, so that an operator can quickly prepare to obtain required info
