The invention mainly solves the problem of high chromaticity of a product obtained by an existing synthesis method of fatty acid macrogol ester. The synthesis method of fatty acid macrogol ester comprises the following step: in the presence of an acid catalyst and other reaction assistants, subjecting polyethylene glycol and a raw material fatty acid to an esterification reaction to obtain the fatty acid polyethylene glycol ester, wherein the other reaction assistants comprise at least one selected from hypophosphorous acid compounds and stannous fatty acid. Thus, the above technical problem is well solved, and the method can be used for producing the fatty acid polyethylene glycol ester.
