The method comprises the steps: removing the crystal water in samarium chloride hydrate under the vacuum condition; enabling the anhydrous samarium chloride to react with metal M, and obtaining the anhydrous samarium chloride extremely high in absolute purity through the impurity removal and vacuum distillation process. The impurity removal and distillation processes are carried out in a high vacuum environment, so water and oxygen are strictly isolated, and the product is prevented from being polluted; in addition, the technological process is short, operation is easy, and industrial production is easy.
