The invention discloses a compressed carbon filter element for tap water treatment, wherein the compressed carbon filter element comprises a cylinder; one end of the cylinder is detachably connected with an end cover, the other end of the cylinder is detachably connected with a bottom plate, and the cylinder is provided with a water inlet communicated with the inside of the cylinder; a cylindrical compressed carbon filter element body which is coaxial with the cylinder and detachably connected with the end cover and the bottom plate is arranged in the cylinder; a water outlet and a through hole are formed in the hollow position, corresponding to the compressed carbon filter element body, of the end cover; a sensor inserted into the hollow position of the compressed carbon filter element body is arranged in the through hole in a sealed mode, and a probe of the sensor is in an L shape; and a controller, a buzzer and an LED lamp electrically connected with an external power source are fixedly connected to the ou
