The invention provides a message prompting method and a device using the same. The message prompting method comprises the following steps: detecting an I/O (Input/Output) signal of input/output equipment; recording the input or output time of the I/O signal; judging whether the I/O signal is continuously input or output and reaches a first preset duration; and if so, generating a prompt signal to prompt a user, wherein the I/O equipment comprises at least one selected from a keyboard, a mouse and a display, and the I/O signal correspondingly comprises at least one of a keyboard input signal, a mouse input signal and a display output signal.
