The invention discloses a pressure-reducing type gearbox oil filter applied to an automobile. The pressure-reducing type gearbox oil filter comprises a shell and a shell cover, wherein a filter screen is arranged between the shell and the shell cover; a coarse filter screen is arranged on the shell and positioned at an oil inlet of the shell; and a magnet is arranged on the shell and positioned at the side edge of the oil inlet of the shell. According to the pressure-reducing type gearbox oil filter disclosed by the invention, when circularly filtered, gearbox oil firstly flows through the coarse filter screen and the side edge of the magnet, is coarsely filtered and iron impurities in the gearbox oil are adsorbed by the magnet, and then is finely filtered by the filter screen. The filter and adsorption process is simple, the pressure-reducing type gearbox oil filter is convenient to install, and the filter pressure of the filter screen part is effectively reduced, so that the filter efficiency of the gearbox
