In the microscope, the transmitted illumination light from a transmitted illumination light source (1) irradiates from above a stage (3) to a sample positioned on the stage, and the fluorescent illumination light from a fluorescent illumination light source irradiates from below the stage to the sample positioned on the stage. The light shielding device (20) can be mounted at the lower end of a condenser (2) of the microscope to at least partially shield the external light rays that will enter an objective lens (4) of the microscope.
