The air conditioner (100) comprises: a refrigerant circuit (Q) having a compressor (11), an indoor heat exchanger 16, an expansion valve (15), and an outdoor heat exchanger 12; and a control unit that controls at least the compressor (11) and the expansion valve (15). The control unit performs first processing for freezing or condensing the lower part of the outdoor heat exchanger (12).
