Compositions and methods comprising male fertility sequences

The present invention provides compositions and methods for modulating male fertility in plants. The compositions comprise nucleotide sequences that modulate male fertility, and active fragments and variants thereof. The present invention also provides expression cassettes comprising a male fertility polynucleotide, or an active fragment or variant thereof, operatively linked to a promoter wherein the expression of the polynucleotide modulates male fertility in a plant.
