The metal-based metamaterial preparation method based on indirect additive manufacturing comprises the following steps of immersing a primary resin mold in a secondary mold material in a molten state, solidifying the secondary mold material, completely wrapping the primary resin mold, polishing the solidified secondary mold material to enable the upper surface of the primary resin mold to be completely exposed, removing the exposed primary resin mold through a primary resin mold removing process, then placing the primary resin mold in an evaporator to be evenly coated with a layer of metal film, and obtaining a secondary mold; pouring a liquid metal-based material into the secondary mold by an electrowetting method and solidifying the liquid metal-based material; and removing the metal film coated on any surface of the secondary mold to expose the coated secondary mold material, placing the seconda
