The thermal defect identification method comprises the steps of obtaining an inspection image of a power transmission and distribution line, wherein the power transmission and distribution line comprises a tower, a line picked up by the tower and electric power fittings on the line and the tower; extracting image information of the electric power fitting in the inspection image; and performing feature recognition on the image information of the electric power fitting to determine whether the electric power fitting has a thermal defect.
