The invention discloses a solid waste treatment device and method. The solid waste treatment device comprises multiple levels of smashing devices arranged in sequence. Each level of smashing device comprises a smashing assembly, a screening assembly and a conveying assembly, and waste falls off onto the screening assemblies after being smashed through the smashing assemblies. The waste is transferred onto the conveying assemblies after being screened and filtered by the screening assemblies, and is further transferred into the smashing assembly of the next level of smashing device by the corresponding conveying assembly, each smashing assembly is provided with an extrusion force adjusting assembly which is used for adjusting the extrusion force of each smashing assembly onto the waste, and the smashing particle sizes of the multiple levels of the smashing devices are gradually reduced in sequence.
