Isobutylbenzene (IBB) is a main intermediate for synthesizing a human medicine ibuprofen which is used for diminishing inflammation, relieving fever and easing pain. A main synthesis method of the isobutylbenzene is an alkylation method taking methylbenzene and propylene as raw materials, and isobutylbenzene is generated through a side chain alkylation reaction in the presence of a basic catalyst.
