The covering layer (40) contains natural fibers (41). A plurality of recesses (60) are formed across the entire region of the absorbent body (20) so as to extend from the covering layer (40) into the interior of the absorbent body (20). The natural fibers (41) have a fiber length which is greater than the distance between adjacent recesses (60) in the lengthwise direction (Y).
