The invention discloses a hard palate area identification method and system in a dental model, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining an intraoral digital dental model which comprises a dental part and a hard palate part; identifying a tooth area and a non-tooth area on the intraoral digital tooth jaw model; obtaining a lingual boundary line of the tooth area; according to the tooth lingual boundary line and geodesic connecting lines on the left side and the right side of the tooth lingual boundary line, identifying an initial hard palate area on the intraoral digital tooth jaw model; and further identifying a target hard palate region of the digital tooth jaw model in the outlet on the initial hard palate area.
