The economical efficiency of a textile machine is improved. To this end, the sensor assembly (5) comprises a sensor element (3) which is in contact with the process material (1) and which is worn due to a relative movement between the process material (1) and the sensor element (3), the electrical property of the sensor element (3) being changed due to wear, and the sensor assembly (5) comprises means for determining the electrical property.
