The detection method comprises the following steps of obtaining an electrical impedance signal of a to-be-detected object; performing amplitude solving processing on the electrical impedance signals to obtain a thoracic impedance amplitude signal sequence reflecting the ventilation conditions of the four areas; fusing the thoracic impedance amplitude signal sequences of the four areas to obtain a thoracic impedance characteristic value sequence; converting the thoracic impedance characteristic value sequence into a lung volume sequence, performing digital differential processing on the lung volume sequence to obtain a lung ventilation flow sequence, and generating a total flow-volume loop graph and a flow-volume loop graph of each area; and obtaining a total pulmonary ventilation function and a pulmonary ventilation function detection result of each region based on the flow-vol
