Zusammenfassung: | An improved catalytic reforming process and system for producing aromatic hydrocarbons is disclosed. The process and system are useful in the petroleum and chemical processing industries in the catalytic reforming of hydrocarbon feedstocks. The process involves contacting a hydrocarbon feed stream, typically comprising a naphtha fraction, with a catalyst contained within the heater tubes of a furnace, the catalyst being disposed on a substrate within the heater tubes and with heat being provided to the heater tubes. The catalyst comprises a non-acidic catalyst effective to form aromatic hydrocarbons by catalytic reforming of the feed stream hydrocarbons, such as L-zeolite. The system comprises a reforming furnace reactor containing heater tubes with the catalyst disposed on the substrate contained within the heater tubes of the furnace and a heat source to provide heat to the furnace heater tubes for the catalytic reforming of the feed stream hydrocarbons to aromatic hydrocarbons.
