This battery pack 10 has a plurality of battery stacks 30, a case 20, and heat shielding covers 60. The case contains the plurality of battery stacks. The heat shielding covers are disposed so as to expose, inside the case, the outer surface of at least one battery stack 31 among the plurality of battery stacks and cover the outer surfaces of battery stacks 32 and 33 which are adjacent to the exposed battery stack. The difference obtained by subtracting the extracted heating value from a heating value generated during heating is greater in the battery stack exposed from the heat shielding covers than in the battery stacks covered by the heat shielding covers.
