Zusammenfassung:A multi-layer cathode having a nickel gradient is provided that includes two or more layers having a nickel-containing transition metal oxide. The first layer may be disposed in direct contact with a current collector and may include active material particles having a relatively high stoichiometric nickel percentage. The second layer may be disposed directly between the first layer and a separator and may include active material particles having a relatively low stoichiometric nickel percentage.
