The remote restarting method comprises the following steps: monitoring heartbeat signals of all the fault recorders through a recording main station; determining a to-be-restarted fault recorder based on the monitoring result, and judging a unit needing to be restarted in the to-be-restarted fault recorder; if the unit needing to be restarted is the wave recording unit, sending a soft restart command for controlling the wave recording unit to the management unit, and when the soft restart command is invalid, directly sending a hard restart command to the wave recording unit; and if the unit needing to be restarted is the management unit, sending a hard restart command to the management unit.
