The invention provides an intelligent measuring cup for measuring rock water absorption rate in real time and a use method thereof. The measuring cup comprises a measuring cup body, a weight measuringand data processing device arranged at the top of the measuring cup body, and an infrared measuring device vertically arranged at the outer side of the measuring cup body, a to-be-measured rock is placed in the to-be-measured sample bag which is arranged in the measuring cup body and filled with water. The infrared measuring device comprises an infrared receiving device tightly attached to the outer side wall of the measuring cup body, an infrared transmitting device arranged on the outer side of the infrared receiving device, and a communicating pipe fixed between the infrared receiving device and the infrared transmitting device, and the two ends of the communicating pipe being connected with the measuring cup body, and a buoy movably placed in the communicating pipe. The intelligent measuring cup is simple and
