The invention relates to packet loss management based on each packet type. A device implementing a system for packet loss management may include a memory and at least one processor configured to identify a plurality of packet categories provided for transmission to an electronic device. The at least one processor may also be configured to determine respective packet loss values for respective onesof the plurality of packet categories. The at least one processor may also be configured to identify a particular category of the plurality of packet categories for which the determined respective packet loss values satisfy the packet loss condition.
