Zusammenfassung: | The present invention provides a novel dialdehyde compound having a norbornane skeleton and a cyclohexanedione skeleton, a polymer, an epoxy resin, a polyester resin, and a polycarbonate resin industrially using a simple and economical method. A dialdehyde compound represented by formula (1) is formed by subjecting carbon monoxide and hydrogen gas to a hydroformylation reaction with a diene compound represented by formula (2) in the presence of a rhodium catalyst or a cobalt catalyst and an organic phosphorus compound.
