The method comprises the steps of collecting an environment image, and intercepting a target local image from the environment image; extracting texture features of the target local image; recognizing texture types of the texture features according to a machine learning algorithm;and controlling the robot according to the texture type. On one hand, a machine vision recognition method is adopted to recognize the texture type of the texture feature, the accuracy of the method ishigh, reliable cleaning of the robot can be guaranteed, and then the cleaning effect is improved.
