The invention relates to a capacitor pressing structure in a converter, particularly to a capacitor pressing device in an electric locomotive converter, and aims to solve the problem that a capacitorof an existing capacitor compressing device in an electric locomotive converter is poor in capacity of bearing external force impact in a non-vertical compressing direction. The capacitor pressing device comprises a cabinet body frame plate, a bolt screwed on the cabinet body frame plate, and a pad plate, wherein a supporting assembly is arranged between the lower end of the bolt and the pad plateand composed of a supporting seat and a sliding bearing, the supporting seat is in a barrel shape with the upper end open, the lower end of the sliding bearing is spherically hinged to the inner cavity of the supporting seat, the upper surface of the sliding bearing is provided with a screw hole, the lower end of the bolt is screwed into the screw hole, the supporting seat is fixed to the pad plate, and the center line of
