The invention relates to a cable, in particular a power and/or communication cable, to a method for producing such a cable, to a liquid ceramic composition for the cable, and to the use of the liquidceramic composition for improving fire resistance. The cable has at least one elongated electrically conductive element, and at least one fire-resistant layer surrounding said elongated electrically conductive element.
