The method comprises the following steps of: a test solution preparation step, a reference solution preparation step, and a detecting and analyzing step. The method detects the content of tribulus terrestris saponin K in fried tribulus terrestris or tribulus terrestris standard decoction and formula granules by using an ultra performance liquid chromatograph and evaporation light scattering detection (UPLC-ELSD) for the first time. The detection method is high in sensitivity, good in repeatability and high in recovery rate.
