Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to a method for monitoring a laser beam welding process. A weld seam is formed by melting a material of at least one workpiece with a laser beam, the method comprises the following steps: observing the welding process by means of at least one event-based sensor, which is divided into pixels, wherein the sensor outputs an event associated with the pixel whenever the intensityof light incident on the pixel changes at least by a predetermined percentage; determining subsets of events from a total set of events output by the sensor, each subset being caused by a different spatter released by molten material during the welding process; evaluating a quality determination of the welding process and/or of the workpiece from the determined subset of events. The invention alsorelates to a method for training an artificial neural network used herein.
