Zusammenfassung: | The application is applicable for the field of robots, and discloses a wheeled robot and a control method. The wheeled robot comprises an upper computer and a motor control module connected with the upper computer, wherein the upper computer is used for sending a first heartbeat packet to a motor control module of the wheeled robot in a normal working state; and the motor control module is used for setting a protection current of a motor of the wheeled robot based on a preset first current value if the first heartbeat packet is received, and setting the protection current based on a preset second current value if the first heartbeat packet is not received, wherein the second current value is smaller than the first current value. By means of the scheme, dynamic setting of the protection current can be achieved in the operation process of the wheeled robot, and the situation that the wheeled robot collides with surrounding objects uncontrollably is reduced.
