The method comprises the following steps: (1) preparing/selecting a sample; (2) performing sample pretreatment; (3) degassing treatment; (4) constructing an evaluation model; and (5) evaluating the degassing time. According to the method, the weight change rule of the samples is obtained through the degassing weight loss ratios of the multiple samples of the same specification, the weight loss change rate parameters are calculated with the average weight loss ratio as the reference, then the suitable degassing time is obtained, the method can accurately evaluate the suitable degassing time of various different XLPE formula materials, and the test method is simple, convenientto operate and high in universality.
