The invention relates to a road workpiece automatic recovering and releasing system. The system comprises a linear combination module, a conveying belt and a mechanical arm. The linear combination module comprises a platform used for placing a road workpiece and a clamp used for taking and releasing the road workpiece from the platform. The platform is connected to the clamp through the linear combination module. The linear combination module comprises a horizontal sliding rail and a vertical sliding rail. The horizontal sliding rail is used for enabling the clamp to move in the horizontal direction, and the vertical sliding rail is used for enabling the clamp to move in the vertical direction. The clamp takes down the road workpiece from the platform and then places the road workpiece onthe conveying belt, and the mechanical arm takes down and places the road workpiece on the ground after the conveying belt conveys the road workpiece to a set position.
