SYNTHETIC ELASTOMERIC ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

The present application relates to an elastomeric article, such as a glove, comprising: (i) an elastomeric film comprising one or more film layers and comprising an outer surface and an inner surface;(ii) an antimicrobial agent which is effective against both beneficial and harmful microorganisms and located on the outer surface of the elastomeric film; and (iii) a skin protectant selected from probiotics, prebiotics, or combinations thereof, located on the inner surface of the elastomeric film, wherein the inner surface of the film does not contain the antimicrobial agent which has an antimicrobial effective amount and is effective against both beneficial microorganisms and harmful microorganisms. The elastomeric article may further include a barrier film layer that isolates the antimicrobial agent and the skin protectant.
